Tigers to open ’17 season against White Sox

DETROIT — While the Tigers try to extend their 2016 season with a postseason berth, their preliminary 2017 schedule was released by Major League Baseball on Wednesday. They’ll open next season on Monday, April 3 at the White Sox before returning to Comerica Park for the home opener against the Red Sox on Friday, April 7 at 1:10 p.m. ET.
The two series open a schedule that features Interleague Play against the National League West, including visits from the Giants, Dodgers and Diamondbacks, along with a trio of three-city road trips in the first two months.
