Mets to open 2017 with string of NL East games

WASHINGTON — Though the Mets have slid all but out of the divisional race this year, they’ll have an early opportunity to recapture the National League East from the Nationals in 2017. Six games against Washington highlight an April slate that contains exclusively NL East games for the Mets, according to the schedule that Major League Baseball released Wednesday.
