Upton sits against Twins with strained left calf

DETROIT — Justin Upton is out of the Tigers lineup for Tuesday night’s game against the Twins as the slugging outfielder deals with a strained left calf that forced him out of Monday’s series opener.
Upton had been hopeful he’d be able to return Tuesday, but he also said the injury had been building in recent days before becoming too big of a hindrance.
