NASCAR Notebook: Stewart, Newman Aftermath

NASCAR plans to talk with Tony Stewart and Ryan Newman about their on- and off-track skirmishes last Saturday night at Richmond International Raceway.
They were involved in a late accident in the Federated Auto Parts 400 that triggered a multi-car melee and subsequent red flag. Both had choice comments for one another after the accident, with Newman launching into a particularly biting salvo aimed at Stewart.
There were no penalties or punishment handed out after the race to either driver, but NASCAR officials plan to meet with both of them before Sunday’s Chase-opening Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 400 at Chicagoland Speedway.
