Randy Orton Teams With John Cena At WWE Live Event In Fairfax, AJ Styles’ First Title Defense

As noted, Randy Orton was pulled from his match against Bray Wyatt at Sunday’s WWE Backlash pay-per-view because he has not been cleared to return to the ring following his TKO loss to Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam last month. Orton suffered a concussion-related injury in the match with Lesnar, but still was able to deliver a TKO to Bray Wyatt at Backlash.
Orton worked last night’s SmackDown WWE live event in Fairfax, teaming with John Cena to face Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan. Orton didn’t take any bumps in the match, and Chad Dukes Wrestling, who was at the show, noted that Orton was protected.
