AL East climb steeper with loss to Dodgers

NEW YORK — Jose De Leon fired five solid innings in his second Major League start and Chase Utley’s deep drive found outfield grass for a key two-run error in the second inning as the Dodgers defeated the Yankees, 8-2, on Monday night at Yankee Stadium.
De Leon picked up his second win in as many outings as he limited the Yankees to two runs and three hits, helping Los Angeles to its seventh victory in nine games. The Dodgers chased Bryan Mitchell early from his second start of the season, pelting the right-hander for six runs (two earned) and eight hits in 2 1/3 innings.
With the loss, the Yankees fell to five games …
