2015-16 Season: JF Berube wasn’t an Islander until Oct. 6 last year, getting claimed off waivers three days before the start of the season, due in large part to a preseason injury to Jaroslav Halak.
Berube saw his first NHL game action on Oct. 10 in a 4-1 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks, but the young goalie impressed the Islanders’ brass enough to stick around for the season.
