DeAngelo Williams Gets Called Out for Leaving Small Tip, Defends Himself
- Updated: September 12, 2016
Many professional athletes can afford to tip their waiter or waitress well even if the service is less than stellar, but there are some who will only tip based on their experience.
An overly generous tip will gain the athlete a fan for life, while a cheap tip will generate lots of buzz—negative buzz. Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy has dealt with being called out for a tiny tip in the past.
Now, it’s Pittsburgh Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams in the crosshairs. And he’s not just going to let someone rip him without defending himself.
On Saturday night, Williams was called out for allegedly leaving a 75-cent tip on what TMZ reports was a $128 bill:
@DeAngeloRB thanks for the lousy tip. Servers and bartenders only make $4/hr and for someone who make mills can only leave $0.75

That led to some back and forth between the NFL player and the employee:
You right I tried to leave exact change but couldn’t I waited on my food for over 1.5hours got the order wrong then https://t.co/rCqpGGdxmv
