Perez exits in third, could have elbow injury

ATLANTA — With the Braves hoping to feel out candidates for the final spots in their rotation next year, they opted to give Williams Perez a chance to make a few starts down the stretch. But two brief outings later, Perez is now dealing with what appears to be an elbow injury.
Perez’s season likely came to an end when he exited during the third inning of Sunday’s 10-3 loss to the Mets at Turner Field. The initial diagnosis is a right triceps impingement, but the focus will be on the right elbow when the injury-plagued starting pitcher is further evaluated on Monday.
“He’s not right,” Braves manager Brian Snitker said. “It’s just one of those things where [the ball] is just not coming out.”
