The San Diego Chargers will need the rest of their receiving corps to step up after Keenan Allen was carted off with a right knee injury against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, per Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport later reported that the Chargers suspect Allen tore his ACL following initial testing.
Allen has been Philip Rivers’ favorite option in the passing game since he entered the league in 2013. The former third-round pick has averaged 8.5 targets per game in three years, including 11.1 per game before getting injured in 2015. Allen recorded six receptions for 63 yards on seven targets before leaving the field.
