Shoemaker in hospital for tests, observation

ANAHEIM — Matt Shoemaker was admitted to a local hospital Saturday for further tests to check for swelling in his brain, the Angels announced after their 8-5 loss to the Rangers. The tests were negative, but Shoemaker stayed in the hospital overnight for observation.
