Shaun Hill Reportedly Named Vikings Starting QB vs. Titans: Comments, Reaction

With Sam Bradford racing against time to learn the team’s playbook, the Minnesota Vikings have opted instead for the sure hand of Shaun Hill in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport first reported the news, and ESPN.com backed that up.
The expediency of the Bradford trade—and the price the team paid—illustrated how desperate Minnesota was to strengthen the quarterback position following Teddy Bridgewater’s season-ending knee injury. The MMQB’s Peter King reported the deal was completed in 48 hours.
Many criticized the trade, arguing the cost didn’t justify the return.
In a vacuum, he isn’t worth a first-rounder in addition to another mid-round draft pick. But Vikings general manager Rick Spielman admitted to King that “there was blood in the water and teams knew it” when Minnesota was looking to add another quarterback.
In a seller’s market, the Vikings were always going to pay a premium for a veteran passer.
