De La Rosa has encouraging return to action

PHOENIX — Rubby De La Rosa made his return to the Majors in Friday’s 7-6 loss to the Giants, albeit just for two innings. The D-backs starter pitched for the first time since May 25 after spending the last three-plus months on the disabled list with right elbow inflammation.
“I’m happy; it’s exciting to be back out there with my team,” De La Rosa said. “It was good.”
De La Rosa only made three rehab starts, so this outing was scheduled to be a short one as Arizona aims to build the right-hander back up to 70 pitches before the end of the season.
