Pollock strains groin; Herrmann breaks hand

PHOENIX — D-backs center fielder A.J. Pollock and catcher/outfielder Chris Herrmann both exited Friday’s 7-6 loss to the Giants with injuries. Pollock suffered a strained left groin and Herrmann broke two bones in his left hand, ending his season.
Pollock was removed at the start of the second inning, suffering the injury when rounding first base in the bottom of the first. He flied out to center for the final out of the inning and as he rounded the bag, he hopped on his right foot, not letting his left leg …
