Brian Camozzi Guillotine Nets Vacant Resurrection Fighting Alliance Welterweight Title

Brian Camozzi sang Nick Barnes a lullaby. The younger brother of Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Chris Camozzi choked Barnes unconscious with a first-round guillotine, as he captured the vacant Resurrection Fighting Alliance welterweight championship in the RFA 43 headliner on Friday at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado. Barnes (11-2) went to sleep 1:40 into round one.Camozzi (7-2) withstood the Bellator MMA alum’s advances in the clinch and created some distance with close-quarters knees and elbows. Barnes ducked into a double-leg takedown but left his neck exposed and found himself hopelessly entangled in the choke. With all means of escape cut off, he lost consciousness and Camozzi’s clutches. In the middleweight co-main event, Gabriel Checco submitted Factory X representative Adam Stroup with a third-round kneebar. Stroup (10-4) conceded defeat 2:32 into round three, as he lost for the third time in four appearances.
