Hull’s Phelan wins monthly award

Hull’s Mike Phelan has been named the Premier League’s manager of the month for August.
Phelan, remains the club’s caretaker boss after taking over from Steve Bruce who resigned in July, guided his squad to victory over Leicester City, the champions, on the opening day of the season and a 2-0 win away to Swansea City in their second game.
Hull then came within a few minutes of holding Manchester United to a goalless draw at the KCOM Stadium before Marcus Rashford’s stoppage-time winner for the Red Devils.
