‘Kante better than Makelele’

Nemanja Matic believes new Chelsea signing N’Golo Kante is better than club legend Claude Makelele.
The Serbian has been playing in central midfield for Chelsea since his return to Stamford Bridge in 2014 and has had a new partner in the opening three matches of the season following the arrival of France international Kante for £32m from Leicester.
Matic says his new team-mate could prove to be one of the most important players in Antonio Conte’s title quest, playing in a position that is commonly described as the “Makelele role”.
And in an exclusive interview with Sky Sports, Matic lavished praise on Kante by suggesting that he has more quality than his fellow Frenchman, who made over 200 appearances for the Blues between 2003 and 2008.
