New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is trying to overcome a lingering hamstring injury as the 2016 regular season gets set to kick off.

Gronkowski Limited in Practice By Injury Thursday, Sept. 8
Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reported Wednesday that Gronkowski is still not back to full strength after taking himself out of an Aug. 15 practice with a hamstring issue. The update doesn’t suggest he’s in any danger of missing the team’s opener against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, though.
Gronkowski is one of the most dangerous offensive weapons in the league, and it would represent a devastating blow to the Patriots if he was forced to miss any games.
