Manchester City Transfer News: Latest Yaya Toure, Eliaquim Mangala Rumours

Former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini claims Yaya Toure wouldn’t sign for Inter Milan because he didn’t want to betray the Citizens, while Spanish reports indicate that City could lose a hefty chunk of cash if Valencia trigger their option for Eliaquim Mangala.
According to Mancini, who left Inter during the summer, the Nerazzuri tried very hard to sign the Ivorian in the summer of 2015 and again this summer, but the veteran was determined to stick with City and prove himself at the Etihad Stadium.
Speaking to Corriere dello Sport (h/t Manchester Evening News’ James Robson), Mancini said:
Yaya was always one of my goals. We had almost sealed his purchase with President Erick Thohir a year ago, then he preferred not to betray Manchester City, where I took him.
Toure, like Zlatan Ibrahimovic is one of those players who can make the difference, who can change the outcome of a season by themselves like Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 33-year-old finds himself at a crossroads, as his City career appears to be coming to an end in a hurry. Manager Pep Guardiola, who already sold him once when the two worked together in Barcelona, left him out of his UEFA Champions League squad and has barely used him so far.
