Priceless shows her worth

Clive Cox already has one Group One sprinter in the colours of Alan Spence on his hands in Profitable, and he has high hopes for Priceless after her win in the VIP Premium Vaping & E-Liquids Scarbrough Stakes at Doncaster.
The three-year-old filly had pushed Stewards’ Cup winner Dancing Star close earlier in the season but had been well beaten at Pontefract on her most recent outing.
With morning favourite Muthmir taken out on account of the ground being too soft, it was Nunthorpe fifth Thesme who was the one to beat and as usual Nigel Tinkler’s filly set a blistering gallop, burning off Demora by halfway.
Despite coming under pressure some way out, Priceless stayed on stronger than Thesme to win by three-quarters of a length
Thesme just held off the two-year-old Equimou for second and the speedy runner-up could head for the Prix de l’Abbaye if the ground is fast, while the third may be supplemented for the Cheveley Park.
“She’s been really progressive this season and is very quick,” said Cox.
“I think where we have been going wrong is trying to stretch her out over six, she’s obviously better suited to five furlongs, getting quicker as she gets older.
“She had a bit of a fright at Ascot in between horses early on this season and she wouldn’t want the ground too soft.
“I’m glad to say she stays in training and I’m inclined to finish this season on a winning note as I don’t think there’s much for …
