Nolasco’s 16-inning scoreless streak unravels

OAKLAND — Ricky Nolasco takes no solace in how well he pitched in the Angels 3-2 loss to the Athletics on Tuesday night.
Never mind that he retired the first 16 batters he faced, or put together a string of 16 consecutive scoreless innings before allowing three runs to score in the eighth.
Nolasco was virtually unhittable through seven innings. And then he couldn’t get the ball to go where he wanted.
