Cubs activate Rondon from disabled list

MILWAUKEE — The Cubs activated Hector Rondon from the disabled list on Tuesday and called up outfielder Albert Almora Jr., infielder Munenori Kawasaki, catcher Tim Federowicz and right-handed reliever Spencer Patton from Triple-A Iowa. Rondon, 28, had been on the DL since Aug. 17 with a strained right triceps.
Right-hander R.J. Alvarez has been designated for assignment.
