Sarah Sjostrom Delivers Olympian Height For Sweden But What Reward For Coaches?

You might well expect Sweden’s best haul in the pool at an Olympic Games, courtesy of Sarah Sjostrom, who delivered the first ever champion among women for the country, to have reflected well on her coaches.
There was much for Sweden to celebrate. Sjostrom delivered gold in the 100m butterfly in world-record time and then added silver with a storming 200m freestyle that left her a touch shy of the dominant force of the era in women’s swimming, Katie Ledecky (USA), bronze in the 100m freestyle behind shared gold in the least predictable result in the Rio pool, completing the collection.
Sjostrom’s success came four years after she emerged from an illness-knocked London 2012 campaign medalless and facing a long-haul to her next chance.
