CarGo slams as Bettis shuts out Giants

DENVER — Chad Bettis lost his perfect game bid in the fifth, but he tossed the Rockies’ first complete game of the season, as Carlos Gonzalez supplied the power in a 6-0 win over the Giants at Coors Field on Monday.
Bettis tossed the Rockies’ first nine-inning complete game since Sept. 3, 2015, allowing just two hits and no walks. The Giants’ first baserunner came on a bloop single to left field by Eduardo Nunez in the fifth, and Trevor Brown’s leadoff double in the sixth was the only other baserunner. His seven strikeouts were one short of his career high.
The Rockies did all of their scoring in the third inning, which ended Giants starter Matt Moore’s day. Moore put the first three batters of the inning on base and eventually intentionally walked the red-hot Nolan Arenado …
