O’s claim Stubbs, working on Bourn deal

BALTIMORE — Orioles manager Buck Showalter cautioned that Wednesday would be a busy one for Baltimore in terms of transactions.
And he was right, as the O’s made two moves in the afternoon, and are working on another.
In an odd sequence of events, the Orioles claimed outfielder Drew Stubbs on waivers from the Rangers to help their outfield defense. To clear a roster spot, they designated left-hander Kyle Lobstein, whom they acquired from the Pirates in exchange for lefty Zach Phillips earlier in the day. They are also finalizing a deal with the D-backs for outfielder Michael Bourn, a source told MLB.com. That deal has not been confirmed by the club.
Lefty Ashur Tolliver had been designated for assignment to make room for Lobstein on Baltimore’s active roster.
