Gordon highlights Twins on Surprise AFL roster

CLEVELAND — The Twins have six players headed to the Arizona Fall League to play for the Surprise Saguaros, including top shortstop prospect Nick Gordon.
Gordon, ranked as the No. 52 overall prospect by MLBPipeline.com, is hitting .296/.340/.393 with three homers, six triples, 22 doubles, 50 RBIs and 16 stolen bases in 111 games with Class A Advanced Fort Myers. Gordon, the son of Tom Gordon and the brother of Dee Gordon, was the No. 5 overall pick in the 2014 Draft and is the Twins’ No. 2 ranked prospect.
Gordon will be joined by catcher Mitch Garver, outfielder Tanner English and pitchers Mason Melotakis, Randy Rosario and John Curtiss. Melotakis is the club’s No. 22 prospect, while Garver is the organization’s No. 24 prospect, per MLBPipeline.com. The Twins also have an open spot available to add a pitcher to the roster.
