Gettys among Padres going to Arizona Fall League

ATLANTA — A pair of the Padres’ top center field prospects will be among seven players in the organization taking part in the 2016 edition of the Arizona Fall League.
Michael Gettys, Franchy Cordero, Brad Wieck, Josh VanMeter, Kyle McGrath, Phil Maton and Jason Jester were all named to the Peoria Javelinas roster. The AFL season — which gives the game’s top prospects a chance to develop and compete against each other — will begin in October and runs through mid-November.
