Arsenal Transfer News: Latest Jack Wilshere, Serge Gnabry Rumours

Jack Wilshere is reportedly set to join Premier League side Bournemouth on loan. The England midfielder appears set to sign a season-long deal with the Cherries, but he’s not the only young Arsenal star prepared to leave the north London club on transfer deadline day, with winger Serge Gnabry returning to Germany on a permanent deal.
BBC Sport’s David Ornstein revealed Wilshere will move to Bournemouth after the Gunners knocked back an approach from Serie A side AS Roma:

The interest from Roma was extensive, according to Ornstein, with talks progressing before a deal collapsed:

Ornstein also revealed one reason why Wilshere isn’t moving to the Italian capital. It stems from Arsenal’s previous interest in Greek international centre-back Kostas Manolas:

Staying in England’s top flight is actually better for Wilshere than moving to Serie A. In particular, a move to Bournemouth could work wonders for the 24-year-old, whose career development has stalled during recent seasons in north London.
