NFL Rumors: Top Trade Buzz Surrounding Mark Sanchez, Darren McFadden and More

With final roster cuts and the start of the 2016 NFL regular season approaching quickly, the trade market is heating up as teams look to make some last-minute improvements in the latter stages of the preseason.

While many of the transactions in the coming days will be made up of releases and other teams signing those released players, the potential for trades is very much present, especially when it comes to some of the bigger names who may not be in line to make the rosters they are currently part of.

Prior to the final cut-down day of the preseason, here is a look at some of the hottest trade rumors surrounding top players potentially available on the market.

     

Mark Sanchez

The Denver Broncos acquired Mark Sanchez this offseason with designs on having him potentially replace Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler as the team’s starting quarterback, but his place on the team is now tenuous at best.

An uneven preseason performance caused Sanchez to lose the quarterback competition to little-known Trevor Siemian, and with first-round pick Paxton Lynch on the roster as well, there may not be any room for Sanchez in the Mile High City.

According to Benjamin Allbright of AM 1340 and 104.7 FM in Denver, the Dallas Cowboys are one team that has shown some interest in potentially making a move for Sanchez.

Allbright added, however, that Dallas is unlikely to trade for Sanchez since the expectation is that Denver will release him.

Dallas would be a logical landing spot for Sanchez, as Tony Romo is currently on the shelf with a broken bone in his back.

That has thrust rookie Dak Prescott into a starting role, and while he has looked spectacular during the preseason, the Cowboys need additional insurance since the inexperienced Jameill Showers is the only other healthy signal-caller on the roster.
