Miller rejoining D-backs’ rotation

SAN FRANCISCO — D-backs manager Chip Hale made it official: Right-hander Shelby Miller will be recalled from Triple-A Reno and start Wednesday’s game against the Giants.
“What it came down to was him starting the game in Reno last Thursday,” Hale said before Tuesday night’s game at AT&T Park. “It was time to get him back up here and get him another month up here. Hopefully he will be one of the five come Spring Training.”
Miller had a 7.14 ERA in 14 starts with the D-backs before being optioned to Reno on July 14. In eight starts with the Aces, he went 5-1 with a 3.91 ERA and 55 strikeouts in 50 2/3 innings.
