Bruins Sign Dominic Moore, Chris Casto, Brian Ferlin And Alex Grant To One-Year Contracts

BOSTON, MA – Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, August 30, that the team has signed the following players: forward Dominic Moore (one-year, one-way contract through the 2016-17 season worth $900,000), defenseman Chris Casto (one-year, two-way contract through the 2016-17 season worth $650,000 at the NHL level), forward Brian Ferlin (one-year, two-way contract through the 2016-17 season worth $725,000 at the NHL level) and defenseman Alex Grant (one-year, two-way contract through the 2016-17 season worth $600,000 at the NHL level). Moore, 36, spent the past three seasons with the New York Rangers. In 2015-16, he skated in 80 games, registering six goals and nine assists, while also contributing one goal in five postseason contests. Moore was the 2013-14 recipient of the Bill Masterson Memorial Trophy, given to the player who “best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey.” Moore registered a career-high 32 points during the 2010-11 season with the Tampa Bay Lightning, collecting 18 goals and 14 assists. The Bruins will be the 10th team Moore has played for, as he has appeared in 765 career NHL games with N.Y. Rangers, Pittsburgh, Minnesota, Toronto, Buffalo, Florida, Montreal, Tampa Bay and San Jose, totaling 89 goals and 156 assists for 245 points with 427 penalty minutes.
